Bible Repair

Keep your cover. Fix what’s broken.

Loose or torn pages, a spine coming apart, a cover coming loose — if the cover’s worth keeping, I can usually repair it. Repairs typically start around $50.

Worn Bible with loose and torn pages

What I repair

A Bible that’s falling apart, but worth keeping

Loose or torn pages. A spine coming apart. A cover coming loose. Pages falling out of the binding altogether. That’s the Bible in the picture — worn hard, used hard, and still the one you know.

If the cover’s worth keeping, I can usually repair it. Repairs typically start around $50. Send me photos and tell me what’s wrong, and I’ll give you an honest quote before any work begins.

Bible taken apart for repair work

On the bench

Your Bible, made sound again

Torn pages mended. Loose pages set back in. Spines rebuilt. Covers reattached — keeping your original cover wherever I can.

I take it apart carefully, fix what’s broken, and put it back together so it opens and holds the way it should. If the cover is gone, or the Bible is falling apart wholesale, that’s a rebind — typically around $150 — and I’ll tell you plain if that’s the better path.

Kept looking the way you remember it.

I keep your Bible looking the way you remember it. I only replace what you ask me to replace.

Your original endsheets, endbands, and ribbons stay put unless you ask for new ones, or they need replacing to get the Bible working again. Ribbons are usually mangled and most often have to be replaced — but if you want to keep the ones you have, I’ll keep them. Where a repair needs new material, I match the original leather, color, build, and stamping as close as I can. There are memories in how a Bible looks — sitting on a mother or father’s end table, read to you by your mother or father — and I don’t want to lose those. If the leather is brittle and rotten, there’s not much can be done about that. But if conditioning and a little edge dye will save it, that’s what I’ll do.

How a repair works.

01

Tell me about your Bible

Fill out the short form, and send me photos of the damage by email or Facebook Messenger. The more I can see, the better my quote.

02

An honest quote

I’ll price it from your photos. If I need your Bible in hand to be sure, I’ll say so. Nothing begins without your approval.

03

Approve, then we go

Once you approve the quote, I will order what is needed for the repairs. I’ll let you know when to ship your Bible. Once it arrives, I’ll begin work, and payment is due before it ships home.
